The Ultimate Question: Who am I to Be, and not, What am I to do?

Both palms spread out with a red capsule in one and a blue capsule in another.

Shakespeare wrote his most famous line in Hamlet, "To be, or not to be." In modern times, we most often contemplate "To do or not to do". When people ask me, 'Adam, what do you do?' I quietly wonder, 'Are they asking me because they want something?'. The truth of the matter is…I (am doing) breath, laugh, cry, love and, on occasion, fart and don't comb my hair, Lol. From a contextual evolutionary perspective, with the end of times as we know it and the beginning of times we have always known, our journey returns us to our natural state of simply being. The ancient text refers to this as a state of grace.

When a beloved light and soul, John F. Kennedy, said in his inaugural speech, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country," he was inviting us to think and feel about our humanity in the context of the greater whole.

Dearest friends, today, we must adopt a worldview that fosters not just what we are doing but what we are being. Are we being the peace we want to see in the world? Are we being the love we want to see in the world? Let there be…more peace, love, and mutual acceptance of the place we meet as BEings in our shared humanity.

In Love and Service,

-Adam
